File Formats
Advantages of a RAW file:
- It is higher in dynamic range.
- It allows for more control over the exposure.
- You can make more detailed color adjustments.
Disadvantage:
- The image quality is not as sharp.
Advantages of a JPEG file:
- Has a sharper image quality.
- Has sharper contrast.
- Does not require processing on a computer.
Disadvantage:
- Low dynamic range.
- All the data.
- White balance, contrast, highlights, shadows, colors, and saturation.
- Not every camera is capable of shooting in RAW, RAW files are much larger than JPEG files, and you can't convert a JPEG file back to a RAW file.
- It gives them more editing capability to further enhance their photos.

- The color depth of a Raster file can be manipulated manually while the color depth of a vector file only increases with the addition of more vectors.
jpeg- Lossy, it can be created in your camera, and it could be published on the internet or shared at a very high quality.
tiff-Lossless or Lossy, it is used for printing yet not very accessible on the internet, and it can be created in some digital cameras.
psd- Lossless, it cannot be created in your camera, and it is easily shareable through the internet.
nef- Lossy or Lossless, it is created in your camera and can only be shared once transported from the camera.
